The Akeley Playground Project

50% of all digital revenues from the purchase and / or streaming of the song "Akeley, MN" by Rikk Roxx from 2026 through 2031 are to be gifted to the City of Akeley.  This gift was officially accepted by unanimous vote during the city's regular June 2026 meeting.

Update Sept. 2026:  Soon after getting the plaque in place, it was decided to make the offer even better:  

For the entire 5 year term specified, 100% of all digital revenue from sales or streaming of the song "Akeley, MN" will be given to the city to be earmarked for new playground equipment.  

In addition, 50% of all digital sales of the album "Northwoods Nights" will also be given to the city for this purpose.

Percentages based on net revenues received.  The funds collected will be spent on new playground equipment to be located near the world's largest statue of Paul Bunyan.

The plaque was installed with permission from the Akeley Chamber of Commerce and following the unanimous vote of approval from the Akeley city council.
